The Bad News of Man's condition

Revelation 4:11: "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."

  • God's creation can only find true meaning by living the design and purposes of the master creator. Apart from God's plan, there is hopelessness and decay.
  • Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."

  • We are not sinners because we sin, we sin because we are born sinners. We are incapable of living a righteous life.
  • Isaiah 53:6: "All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way;"

  • Left alone, apart from the grace of God, we all go our own way as we see most beneficial to ourselves.
  • Romans 6:23: "The penalty for sin is death."

  • God told Adam and Eve, the day they eat the fruit they will die. That day, their spiritual relationship with God died, and many years later they both experienced physical death themselves.

  • The Good News of God's salvation for Man

    Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrated His love towards us, while we were still sinners."

  • While we were still the enemies of God, God didn't wait for us to find ask for forgiveness, He came to us and gave His Son for the salvation of any who would place their trust in Him.
  • Acts 4:12: "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

  • Jesus is the only one to ever die and rise again 3 days later. Now He is alive and coming again and He is the only name that has power to save.
  • Acts 17:30-31: "...God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead."

  • Salvation is not a prayer of empty words, but a repentance that brings the change of the new man by the power and grace of a risen Lord!
  • Romans 10:12-13: "For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved'."

  • God has promised that anyone who calls on the name of the Lord asking for forgiveness, will be granted the merciful forgiveness of the great God!
